Sri Devi Dead Body Reaches Her Home Town. Megastar Sridevi Dies In Dubai but Delays Release of her Dead Body. The country is mourning Bollywood icon Sridevi, who died last evening in Dubai following a cardiac arrest. 

            The 54-year-old had dominated the silver screen in the 80s. While in a Family wedding in Dubai, she had fainted in the bathroom of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers. A medical team had failed to revive her. Later, she was declared dead at a hospital. Messages of condolence poured in on social media from celebrities, the political establishment and her legions of fans. 

            Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, "Saddened by the untimely demise of noted actor Sridevi. She was a veteran actress in the film industry. Her long career included diverse roles and memorable performances. My thoughts are with her family and admirers in this hour of grief. May her soul rest in peace". Indian ambassador in UAE Navdeep Suri told NDTV news agency, reporters, that "We are completely shocked. She had no history of a heart attack. We are in touch with the family and local authorities to provide all possible assistance. The UAE authorities are doing forensics on Sridevi's body. The body will only be released after forensics is over. Her body will be handed over to the relatives in her Home Town", reported news agency Reuters. The last rites are expected to be held in Mumbai tomorrow.
