A case under section 67 of Information Technology Act, 2000 booked against him for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form. Central Crime Station (CCS) registered a case by activist Devi and others. A police officer said that the complaint cited some photographs allegedly posted by Varma on social media. One of these photographs is obscene. The filmmaker also booked under sections 506 and 509 of Indian Penal Code. He had charged with insulting the modesty of a woman. Meanwhile, women's groups staged the protest in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
The activists of All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA), AP Mahila Samakhya and others groups raised slogans against Varma. They alleged that Varma is releasing the movie on the web to avoid the certification by authorities. They said that filmmaker is portraying woman as a sex object and promoting pornography. Varma has been facing strong reactions from women's groups.
Varma had tweeted that "I truly believe that there's no location on earth which is more beautiful and more monumental than a woman's body". The Filmmaker said that the video is about a "Revolutionary sexual philosophy" as professed by Malkova. Just two days after Ram Gopal Varma released online his controversial film "God, Sex and Truth"(GST), starring American Pornstar Mia Malkova, the director on Monday that he will soon come up with "GST2". The director had released the film "GST" online on Saturday. He also tweeted that "Watch #GodSexTruth with headphones or good speakers because it's @mmkeeravani's music which is its strength as much as @Mia Malkova's Beauty".
Recently Varma shared the trailer of "God, Sex, and Truth" and it went viral on social media. Earlier, BJP Mahila Morcha filed a complaint against the film and called for a ban on it. "What is the message that Varma will be giving to the youth in India with such a dirty film?" asked K.Nagalakshmi. RGV has known in Bollywood circles said that "God, Sex, and Truth" is the "Truth behind sex as intended by God." RGV gave a statement that "It has explicit nude imagery which will showcase each and every part of Mia Malkova's sexy naked body in a never before seen magnificence." RGV also added that "She also speaks graphically and hard sexual words, because the whole point of this endeavor is to enhance and elevate whatever people conventionally look down upon".
