Padmaavat Latest Movie Updates: Supreme Court Rejects Earlier Order On Padmaavat. Supreme court today rejected the pleas of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Government. This is because of banning the release of Bollywood Periodic Drama "Padmaavat". After the Supreme Court order, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh had petitioned the top court for a review. They said that the states must be allowed to stop the film on the grounds of law and order troubles. Karni Sena group also asked the top court to ban the film saying its makers twisted the history. Chief Justice Dipak Misra observed that it was the best for the governments and others to abide by the apex court order.

Earlier, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat said that they will not screen the film Padmaavat in their states. Karni Sena had vowed to burn the theatres that screen Padmaavat. The protesters believe that the film distorts the history and shows Rani Padmini, a legendary Rajput Queen renowned for her beauty in a poor light. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapur was cleared by the censor board. The makers of the film finally go ahead from Central Board of Certification (CBFC) and to all state governments barring Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat. But the green light comes with a price. It is more than dropping of its "I" and adding an extra "A". Finally, The title had also changed from "Padmavati" to "Padmaavat". The makers made clear by posting full page "Disclaimer" advertisements on the front pages of several newspapers.
