Oscar 2018 Nominations Surprised Snubs, Triumphs and Surprises

Oscar 2018 Nominations Surprised Snubs. Over the past two years, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences had sent invitations to approximately 1,400 new members. With 2018 Oscar nominations, we finally saw the effect of these new additions. Younger voters helped India films such as "Get Out" and "Lady Bird". Academy members favored "Dunkirk" and "Darkest Hour". Jordan Peele and Greta Gerwig gathered in direction nominations. Rachel Morrison became the first woman to be nominated as Cinematographer with "Mudbound". The frame's host John Hom caught up with "Vulture" Kyle Buchanan and Variety's Amy Nicholson to talk about this year's snubs, triumphs, and surprises.
